Fourth Grade Girls Counselors

Amanda D., G4A

Amanda is very excited to be returning for her 5th summer at Elmwood! She graduated in December with a degree in Psychology from the University of Scranton, and during the spring she worked as a one-to-one aid in a Pre-K classroom. During her free time, Amanda enjoys snowboarding, baking, and playing with her puppy. Amanda can’t wait to meet her campers and have the best summer ever!

Julia D., G4A

Julia just completed her freshman year at Muhlenberg college where she plans to double major in Theatre and Businesses. She attended Camp Chateaugay (a sleepaway camp in the Adirondacks) when she was 14 but the following summers participated in a high school marching band located in Ogdensburg, New York. She enjoys reading, dancing, singing, and being around friends and family. She is looking forward to being outside and making lifelong connections with her fellow staff members and campers.

Lindsay H., G4B

Lindsay is so happy to start her first year as a counselor at Elmwood Day Camp. During the year, she studies at SUNY New Paltz. As an incoming sophomore, she is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in history. During her childhood, she went to a different camp for 12 years and was a counselor at that camp for another 2 years. Other than studying at school, she loves to sing and dance in a club on campus. She is extremely passionate about the arts and having a great time dancing to a good beat. Three words that describe her are: leader, enthusiastic, and friendly. A fun fact about Lindsay is that she can make a three-leaf clover with her tongue!

Michelle P., G4B

Although Michelle grew up in San Diego, she is no stranger to summer camp! She grew up attending day camps provided by the YMCA for years, as well as a 6th grade sleep-away camp for a week. She also has attended a few theater camps! This summer will be Michelle’s first summer at Elmwood, and she cannot wait for camp songs and the fun activities that is in store! She is mostly excited for Swim. Michelle can often be described as fun, silly and compassionate. She loves to swim, do arts and crafts, and loves making friendship lanyards. Michelle has taught herself how to speak in a foreign language, and in her spare time when she is not learning this new language, she enjoys cooking interesting foods for her friends and family. She is currently learning how to make…SNAILS!

Sophie V., G4B

Sophie is starting her first year at Bates College this fall where she plans on double majoring in mathematics and politics. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, baking, and spending time outside. During high school, she played field hockey and ran track and cross country. This is her first summer at Elmwood, but she attended sleep-away camp for five summers and loved all of them.

Sandra S., Floater Counselor

Sandra just finished her Freshman year at the University of Buffalo. She hopes to one day be a nurse practitioner. Even though she was never an Elmwood camper, Sandra decided to work at Elmwood because of all the great things she has heard. She did not regret that decision and is now back for a second year! She enjoys swimming, playing games and dancing. She hopes to make some new friends and can’t wait to be back with everyone from last year. She is excited to have fun with all those attending camp this summer. One fun fact about Sandra is that she speaks three languages, English, Spanish and Polish!

Fourth Grade Boys Counselors

Alex K., B4A

Alex just finished his Freshman year at Drexel University. As a child, he attended JCC Country Day Camp. In his free time, Alex enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee and video games. He also enjoys watching his favorite show, Flash, and loves eating spicy foods. Alex is excited to be back for his fourth summer on staff. He is looking forward to meeting the campers and helping to make their summers great!

Nick P., B4A

Nick has just finished his first year at Miami University where he is studying Supply Chain Management. Nick enjoys running, cycling and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. Nick has worked for years as a camp counselor but he is especially excited for his first at Elmwood. A fun fact about Nick is that he has three middle names.

Jason S., B4B

Jason is very excited to join Elmwood’s staff for his first summer. During the year, Jason is a student at Penn State where he majors in Communications. Prior to going to State, Jason graduated from Ardsley High School where he lettered in three sports, baseball, basketball, and football. Jason’s favorite camp activity is playing gaga. A fun fact is that he has two different colored eyes. Jason is super excited to meet his new coworkers and can not wait to get the summer underway!

Osi N., B4B

Osi is so excited to return to Elmwood for his fifth summer! Osi lives in White Plains. However, he has lived in Georgia and in Nigeria in the past. Osi would describe himself as a calm person. However, nothing gets him more energized than playing sports and meeting new people. A few of his favorite sports are soccer, golf, football, skateboarding and tennis. He is 24 years old and works as a Teaching Assistant at Mamaroneck Avenue School in White Plains. He previously graduated from Chattahoochee Teach with an Associates in computer programming. He never thought he would find himself working with kids outside of Elmwood, but now that he is, he can’t look back! He finds it rewarding and feels like it is an extension of camp. He can’t wait to meet all of his new campers and start having some real summer fun!
