Third Grade Girls Counselors

Julia W., G3A

Julia just recently finished her senior year at Irvington High School and will be attending Franklin & Marshall in the fall. When not busy with school, Julia enjoys spending her free time with friends and playing sports. Anyone who knows Julia can attest to the fact that she is a big fan of camp and credits some of her favorite experiences to her many summers in various camp communities. Julia began her day camp career at age four before moving onto six amazing summers at a sleep away setting. Julia looks forward to returning to Elmwood for her second year to help campers create lasting memories. A fun fact about Julia is that she was born in China and has a rescue dog named Cosmo who she adores!

Maddie Gl., G3A

Maddie is so excited to be attending New York University Tisch School of the Arts next year majoring in drama! She just graduated from Solomon Schechter School of Westchester and has always wanted to be a camp counselor! Her hobbies include singing, acting, and sports! She loves working with kids and has been teaching theatre to elementary school kids for four years! She is so excited for her first summer at Elmwood and can’t wait to meet her campers!

Rebecca W., G3A

Rebecca is returning back to Elmwood after previously being an Elmwood camper for five years. She will be starting her freshman year this fall at Hamilton College and plans on studying statistics. Rebecca loves playing sports. She is an avid softball player and will be playing in tournaments over the weekends. Rebecca is excited to see her campers get their swim pins as she still has all of her swim pins from when she was a camper.

Jordana K., G3B

Jordana is a rising sophomore at Colgate University where she is planning to major in biology and minor in education. Jordana was a camper at Elmwood for many years and then attended Camp Canadensis as a camper and counselor for eight summers. She is outgoing and enthusiastic, especially about camp. She loves working with kids, singing, and volunteering as a tour guide at school. She is looking forward to getting to know her campers and making amazing memories!

Rebecca D., G3B

Becca will be a sophomore at Northwestern University this fall and is currently majoring in Theatre and Communications. Being a former Elmwood camper for many years, she is so excited to make her counselor debut this summer! In addition to her love of theatre, Becca is also a huge animal lover. With her friends, Becca raises money for the SPCA of Westchester through her company Lab Soaps and loves to foster puppies through Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Becca can’t wait to meet all of her campers and help make their summers as amazing as hers were!

Rachel A., G3C

Rachel just finished her Freshman year at Quinnipiac University where she is majoring in advertising and integrated communications. As a child, Rachel attended Camp Echo Lake for nine summers. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and traveling to new countries. Rachel is looking forward to returning back to Elmwood for her second summer and can’t wait for another summer of Elmwood activities and traditions!

Rachel J., G3C

Rachel just finished her freshman year at the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University and is super excited to work at Elmwood for her first summer! She is a legal studies and marketing double major, the outreach chair for her sorority, Sigma Delta Tau, and Vice President of Finance for the Gift of Life club. She attended Camp Mohawk from ages four to seven and Camp Chipinaw for ten summers, working there for one. Rachel enjoys hanging out with friends, sports, dogs, and can’t wait for summer 2019!

Third Grade Boys Counselors

Jason W., B3A

Jason just finished his senior year at Irvington High School and will be attending Binghamton University in the fall, majoring in Business. During the school year, Jason mostly focuses on school work, but from time to time he does enjoy photography and playing some pick-up sports with friends when the weather is nice. Jason has been going to camp for as long as he could remember. Starting in the third grade, Jason started attending a sleepaway camp called Camp Echo. Camp was always a summer home to him. A place where he could always count on having fun and not having to worry about anything. Throughout his time at camp, Jason has learned so much about himself, and he has realized how much of an impact camp has had on him which is why he wants to work at Elmwood. He knows how much of an impact counselors can have on campers and how a counselor can have the ability to give campers one of the best experiences of their lives. His goal for this summer is to just have fun with the kids and help share these experiences with them!

Josh S-T., B3A

Josh is returning for his third year at Elmwood after completing his third year at Royal Holloway University of London. Coming from the United Kingdom, Josh never had the chance to attend or work at a summer camp prior to summer 2017. He loved it so much over the past two years, that he decided to return for another summer. Josh is a keen sportsman having played and watched soccer, rugby and cricket from a young age. He supports Southampton Football Club, a Premier League Soccer team located on England’s South Coast. Josh also has a passion for modern British and American history, potentially undertaking a master’s degree after he has completed his third and final year. Josh is excited to further experience American culture and travel.

Jeremy S., B3B

Jeremy is a rising sophomore at Johns Hopkins University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He attended Elmwood from ages 5-7, then went to a sleep away camp, Pine Forest, for 8 summers, where he worked as a counselor. He enjoys playing video games and sports with friends, especially tennis and ultimate Frisbee. He is really looking forward to meeting all of the campers and having fun in all the activities at Elmwood, his personal favorite being the ropes course.

Noah Bl., B3B

Noah is excited to be returning to Elmwood for his third summer. He was an Elmwood camper for six years and then spent eight summers at Trail’s End Camp. Noah just finished his freshman year at Wisconsin University. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music and playing football with his friends. During football season on Sundays, one is likely to find Noah with a cheese head on as he roots for the Green Bay Packers. Noah also loves to watch TV and his two favorite TV shows are Modern Family and The Office. Noah cannot wait for the opportunity to spend his summer days with kids doing all of the things he loved as a camper at Elmwood. He is especially looking forward to playing gaga and making new Elmwood memories.

Mitchell Sl., B3C

Mitch is a rising junior at Syracuse University. He was a camper at Gate Hill Day Camp for seven years and attended Camp Towanda for another seven years. Mitch loves following soccer, basketball, and football, especially the Knicks, Giants, and of course the Syracuse Orange. He loves being active and hanging out with his friends. Mitch is looking forward to meeting all of the campers and counselors and having an amazing summer. A fun fact about Mitch is that he has never broken a bone.

Tom H., B3C

Tom is coming to Elmwood all the way from Ireland! It is Tom’s first year working at Elmwood, and he couldn’t be more excited! He is currently finishing his degree in finance and accounting, but in his free time, he enjoys reading a good book and listening to music. He loves to play golf and rugby in the summer. Tom is excited to meet his campers and his co-counselors and is really looking forward to experience American camp, as he has always heard such great things!
