First Grade Girls Counselors

Madison S., G1A

Madison just finished her Freshman year at Rhode Island College in Providence where she is majoring in Social work. She has never been so lucky to have experienced camp, however, she has heard only great things from friends who have attended Elmwood. She enjoys going to the gym, playing basketball, modeling and drumming. She is really looking forward to meeting everyone and forming close bonds with not only the campers but her fellow staff as well! Madison can often be described as energetic, strong and empathetic. She loves all outdoor activities and she loves all of the creative activities that Elmwood has to offer. Madison can’t wait to spend time with all of the Elmwood campers and is hoping to facilitate genuine connections with them all!

Talia R., G1A

Talia grew up in Ardsley and just finished her Freshman year at Middlebury College in Vermont. At school, Talia enjoys playing for the Middlebury soccer team. She is excited to return to Elmwood for her third summer. In previous summers, she has enjoyed being both a swim specialist and a lifeguard. She spent her summers at Elmwood from ages 3-12 and is looking forward to coming back to camp. Following Elmwood, Talia went to sleep away camp at Crane Lake Camp for six years. She loves to play soccer and enjoys playing many other sports too. In addition to soccer, Talia loves to hang with friends, participate in various clubs in school and draw in her free time. She is excited to be back at Elmwood for all of the activities that she loved as a camper, especially special event days. Talia is looking forward to getting to know campers and having another amazing summer at Elmwood!

Amelia F., G1B

Amelia is a rising sophomore at Binghamton University. Her major is Philosophy, Politics, and Law where she intends to pursue a career in law. This is her first year working at Elmwood and she is so excited! In her free time, Amelia likes to spend time with her friends and time outside whether that’s hiking or going to the beach. She is looking forward to getting to know all her campers and is excited for an amazing summer!

Caroline H-M., G1B

Caroline is super excited to return for her second summer at Elmwood! She recently finished her freshman year of college at Stony Brook University where she majors in Business Management and is an involved member of her community. Caroline teaches English to foreign students through the English Pal program, is a part of the Best Buddies organization, and is in the Beta Alpha chapter of the Theta Phi Alpha sorority on her campus. When she was younger, she spent her summers at Asphalt Green Day Camp and Camp Bernadette sleep away camp. Her favorite camp activities include sailing, swimming, and volleyball. Caroline can’t wait to meet all of her campers and is looking forward to another fun filled summer at Elmwood!

Julia S., G1B

Julia graduated from Dean College with an Associate’s Degree in early childhood education and St. Thomas Aquinas College with a Bachelor’s Degree in social science. She currently works as a Teacher’s Assistant at Hawthorne Country Day School. As a child, she attended the village of Mamaroneck Day Camp. In her free time, Julia enjoys helping her mom out at her store and playing sports. Her favorite teams are the Yankees, Knicks and both the Giants and Jets. Julia is most excited to return for her fifth summer to play and have fun with her new and previous campers!

Jessica R., G1C

Jessica just recently graduated from Friends Seminary, in Manhattan, and will be starting her Freshman year in college in the Fall. She is a former camper who enjoys singing, Taekwondo and playing volleyball. Jessica also love to read mythology and science fiction novels. She enjoys traveling with her family and exploring new places.

Rachel P., G1C

Rachel is a 19-year-old sophomore at the University of Michigan, studying psychology. Rachel grew up attending and working at camp and absolutely loves it! She most recently worked at a sleepaway camp as both a general counselor and a soccer counselor, however, she is excited to be back to her old stomping ground at Elmwood. She has played soccer all throughout high school and loves being active. Rachel can’t wait to meet all of her campers and be at Elmwood.

First Grade Boys Counselors

McKenzie M., B1A

During the year, McKenzie attends Mercy College. She is beginning her senior year this fall and is majoring in Health Science and hopes to continue her education to get a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy. Upon finishing school, she hopes to work with children who have special needs and can’t wait to change peoples lives for the better. She never went to camp as a child but has worked at different ones throughout the years. Her favorite part of working at a camp is getting to experience all the things she missed out on as a child.

Sam C., B1A

Sam just recently finished his Freshman year at the University of Michigan and is super excited to return to Elmwood for his third summer as a counselor! At school he is studying business, and some of his favorite things to do at Michigan are going to football games with friends and playing basketball. He started going to Elmwood when he was three and then went to sleep-away camp at Camp Echo Lake when he was nine. Some of his favorite hobbies are spending time with friends, playing sports and listening to music. His favorite sports teams are the Phoenix Suns, New York Yankees and New York Islanders. Sam can’t wait for sky park and adventure park, special days and pool dancing on Fridays. He also missed eating Elmwood’s famous cookies and pizza on Fridays.

Hunter B., B1B

Hunter is going to be a sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill next year majoring in Film Studies and Marketing. In his free time, Hunter likes to play racquetball, watch Netflix, and hang out with friends. Three words that describe Hunter are tall, friendly, and creative. Hunter is excited to work at camp because he loves to work with kids and spend his summers outdoors.

Kelsey W., B1B

Kelsey is excited to be back at Elmwood this summer as a camp counselor. She just finished her Freshman year at the University of Delaware where she is studying to become a physical therapist. During the school year, Kelsey participated in various clubs such as project sunshine where she spends time with children facing medical challenges. She volunteers her time to philanthropic service raising money for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and Sharsheet. Kelsey is looking forward to the special events, getting to know the campers and having an amazing summer!

Harrison B., B1C

Harrison is looking forward to making his return to Elmwood! Harrison grew up at Elmwood before spending several summers at Southwoods. In the fall, Harrison will be attending Ithaca College for his Freshman year. Harrison has always had a love of working with children. Being a counselor has always been a dream of his, and he cannot wait to provide the campers with the Elmwood experience he had for many years. When not busy with school, Harrison enjoys spending time with his friends and is passionate about photography.

Skylar S., B1C

Skylar just finished her freshman year at Loyola University Chicago. She studies Secondary Education and English there in hopes of becoming a high school English teacher. She is a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority, and plays on both the field hockey and softball club teams. A fun fact about her is that she loves to read, and her favorite movie is Back to the Future. This is her first summer at Elmwood, but she attended sleep away camp for seven summers, and she is excited to be back at camp as a counselor.

Isaiah W., B1D

Isaiah is excited to start his first summer at Elmwood! He is looking forward to building bonds with all of his campers. Isaiah loves to play basketball, swim and do arts and crafts. He is a rising senior at KIPP NYC College Prep, and is excited for his AP Psychology class that he is going to take this upcoming school year. Isaiah can’t wait to meet all of his campers and make lasting memories this summer.

Kate L., B1D

Kate is super excited to be returning for her third summer at Elmwood as a counselor! Kate attended many different camps throughout her childhood including Purchase Day Camp and Lake Greeley Sleep Away Camp. Kate just finished her Freshman year at Northwestern University where she is studying engineering. Kate has been involved with the Girl Scouts for 14 years, where she has loved leading many of the events for the younger girls. This summer, Kate is most looking forward to getting to know all of her new campers and participating in all of her favorite activities.

Susan P., B1D

Susan is a rising sophomore at NYU studying computer science and economics, with the intention of entering the software development field. She loves to play soccer, play the drums, and experience new things! Fun fact: her birthday is on the Fourth of July! This summer, Susan is looking toward to getting to know all of her new campers and forming relationships with both them and staff-members.
