Devonleigh R., Seniors

Devonleigh just recently graduated from Dominican College with a Bachelor of Arts. Her major is Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. She was in two honor societies, Psi Chi and Pi Gamma Mu, and was given two awards. She was also President of Psi Chi. Devonleigh hopes to continue her studies in graduate school, so she can receive her PsyD or PhD. She loves working with children and has babysat for 6 years. This will be her first year working at a camp, and she is so excited! She cannot wait to work with kids and be a mentor for them.

Eric H., Seniors

Eric Hanson attended Sacred Heart University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in business in 2010. Deciding business was not for him, he began coaching after-school golf and tennis through TGA Premier Sports at the elementary level. He is currently enrolled at Manhattanville College pursuing a Masters in Physical Education & Sports Pedagogy. Growing up playing tennis, he developed a love for the sport that eventually drove his desire for a career change. Trying to get more familiar and a deeper understanding of how children learn and play, Eric decided to become a counselor at Elmwood Day Camp. He is looking forward to the Summer experience at Elmwood before he begins an Internship in the Fall at Bedford Hills Elementary School.

Miranda D., Seniors

During the year, Miranda is a Middle School English teacher at Grimes in Mount Vernon. Although new to Elmwood, Miranda grew up attending a summer camp in Florida every summer. She enjoys reading, writing, doodling, painting, listening to music, learning sign language and learning the guitar. She is looking forward to learning new skills and enjoying the summer with fun and nature. She is also looking forward to building new relationships with all the campers as well as the staff. Miranda is very caring, loving and funny, and she can’t wait to use these qualities to help the campers learn who they are and what they like so that they can be more successful in life. A fun fact about Miranda is that she grew up in Florida. She also really loves reality TV!
