Elmwood Day Camp is a small summer camp that feels like home. Ask anyone and they’ll tell you what a special place this is. It’s just right for 3 year olds, and 7 year olds, all the way up to 12 year olds. Every summer we have lots of fun playing sports 🏀, doing art 🎨, acting in plays 🎭, going hiking 🥾, and swimming 🤿. Nestled among the very BIG camps, Elmwood is a warm and friendly place where kids find it easy to belong and make friends. We’re not too big, and not too small. Our days are balanced between athletics, performing arts, creative activities, time on the playground, and swim. We have age-specific programming and lots of wonderful staff who love the kids. There’s always something going on, but nobody gets lost in a crowd. Our counselors and specialists intentionally engage the campers to make every day 1,000% more fun.

Children at Elmwood Swim 2x Every Day!
Developmental Swim Program: Our customized program is consistent with the American Red Cross “Learn to Swim” instructional program. Children make the most progress when they feel safe, so our group counselors get in the pool with swim staff to make your child feel completely at ease. Campers are placed in small groups based on comfort and ability levels.
Your Child Will Get to Choose Their Activities
Confidence, Skills & Smiles: From swim and sports to science, adventure, arts, and natural play, our activities engage both body and mind. With small groups, incredible teachers, and spaces built just for kids, our program meets the needs of each individual child.
We Limit the Size of Our Groups
Small Groups, Big Impact: Elmwood is the ideal size day camp for children. There are between 10 and 15 campers in each group, with 2 to 3 leaders, depending on the child’s age. Every group has an experienced educator or child-development professional who gets to know your family before camp, checks in throughout the summer, and keeps you connected to your child’s Elmwood journey.

We Provide Safe & Reliable Transportation
Getting Here is Half the Fun: Elmwood is just one mile from the center of Ardsley and 30 minutes from Manhattan. Our buses and vans are an extension of camp itself. In addition to the driver, each vehicle is staffed by a trained Elmwood counselor who leads songs, games, and conversations that bookend your child’s day.
