Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and think about all we are grateful for. As we sit around our Thanksgiving table this week, one of the things we will certainly be giving thanks for is our Elmwood family.

Campers and their families: We know that what makes Elmwood such a special place is YOU! We are always grateful for the support our camp families give, and the trust you put in us to care for your children. We have the most fun and thoughtful campers we could possibly hope for. Their smiles and laughter echo from the A&W field to Adventure Park and everywhere in between. We cannot thank you enough for being an important piece of our Elmwood puzzle!

Staff: Our Leadership Team provides all the guidance and support our counselors need to succeed, as well as being the caring link between Elmwood and our families. Whether it’s encouragement to make a new friend, instruction at activities, or the advice that’s given when needed, our campers are thankful for the love and care our Counselors provide each and every day. Whether drama, soccer, gymnastics or woodworking, our Activity Specialists challenge our campers to try new things in a safe environment, all the while cheering them on. Our staff create an amazing community that is full of warmth, laughter and phenomenal spirit! We are thankful for them ALL!

Friendships: Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “The only way to have a friend is to be one”. At Elmwood, encouraging and nurturing friendships is a priority because we know the power of being and having a friend. Camp friendships are something special. All of the shared experiences bond campers together in amazing ways. Our summer friendships give us confidence, teach us about unity, and help us be our best selves!

FUN: Pure and simple, camp is a boatload of fun! Bonding with your camp group, Special Event Days, gymnastics, swimming, hiking, making music, making art, capture the flag, off-site trips, all of these and more make for a great summer. Campers absolutely acquire skill development, and they have so much fun along the way! Everyone at Elmwood loves the opportunity to play together and we are thankful for the crazy fun we get to experience all summer long.

Awesome Memories: Camp fills the summer months with so many memories! But we know that the benefits of camp last all year long. The friendships that are created, the new skills that are acquired, and the risk taking that takes place, are some “camp perks” that help us shine throughout the year. We are thankful for all the amazing memories created summer after summer, and cannot wait to make more memories together!
