Elmwood: Now, More than Ever

We are keenly aware of how challenging the Covid-19 Pandemic has been on our local community, our country and our world. Our lives have been profoundly impacted, and we are thankful for every individual who has lent a helping hand.

We are grateful that we were able to have camp in 2020. It was a transformative experience for our campers, parents and staff. Camp was the perfect antidote to months of social isolation.

We had a straightforward mission for ourselves regarding camp. If we could operate Elmwood safely for our campers, staff and the larger community and still be able to make a difference in the lives of children, we would open. Our goal was to help children re-enter a social community with ease. Campers and staff spent their days outside playing, exercising, laughing, and being together in a safe way.

We encourage you to read about our 2020 program called Elmwood Outdoors by clicking here. The document provides a detailed description of our program and our safety protocols.

“In this season of intense disappointment - for us and the kids - and a series of “it’s not possibles” and “that’s too hards,” it’s difficult to put into words how meaningful Elmwood was for our family this summer. It filled our kids with joy every day, and clearly it did that without adding great risk to their lives. Aside from the pleasure it gave us all this summer, it showed us what is possible going forward in our communities.” -A Grateful Parent

As we plan for 2021, we are hopeful that we will be able to return to a more traditional program. We recognize that our world remains unpredictable, and we will be adjusting and adapting throughout the year as needed. We are committed to offering a full-day program, providing transportation and instructional swim.

Please do not hesitate to call or email us to discuss summer 2021.

"Even if everything is exactly the same next summer as it is right now, they will have Elmwood to look forward to. A North Star."
